About The PS 89 PTA
Everyone at PS 89 - teachers, staff, parents, stepparents, and guardians - is automatically part of our PTA! Together, we organize fun events, raise resources to support our kids, and help strengthen our vibrant school community.
The PS 89 PTA, led by an elected Executive Board, is dedicated to helping the school administration create an environment where every student can achieve academic excellence and personal growth in a safe and supportive setting.
We depend on the involvement of our class parents and numerous parent volunteers to achieve this ambitious mission. We can’t be successful without you! Please participate in our meetings, volunteer whatever time you have, and become annual supporters of our mission.
Ways We Help
We organize year-round events
for our families and foster a
collaborative educational community.
We raise funds for curriculum enhancement and enrichment programs, including: all art, music, and dance programs; the library; teacher professional development; school equipment and supplies; and many community activities.
We give back to the broader community through donation drives, Battery Park clean-ups, and other volunteer opportunities that help our children develop a better sense of civic responsibility.
We participate in decision-making
to ensure the successful implementation
of safety protocols.
Elected members advise
the administration on educational policies
for the school and their resource requirements.
