Studio Art

At PS89, children in grades K-5 receive weekly Visual Art classes that foster creativity and intellectual growth. Throughout the year, students play, experiment and create with wide variety of artistic media including paint, clay, textiles, recycled materials and more. Students learn about significant artists and art movements throughout history and around the world, and also make connections between Visual Arts and literacy, math and science. All Visual Arts lessons and units follow the NYC Blueprint for Teaching and Learning, as well as the National Visual Arts Standards.
