As elected representatives of our community, we are committed to making informed decisions that shape the future of our schools. Our responsibilities include:

Policy Development: Crafting and implementing policies that promote high educational standards and equity.
Budget Oversight: Ensuring that financial resources are allocated efficiently and effectively to support student learning and well-being.
Superintendent Supervision: Collaborating with and providing oversight for the Superintendent to ensure the district's strategic goals are met.
Curriculum and Instruction: Evaluating and approving curricula that meet the diverse needs of our students and prepare them for future success.
Facilities Management: Overseeing the maintenance and improvement of school facilities to provide a safe and conducive learning environment.
Community Engagement: Encouraging active participation from parents, students, teachers, and community members to foster a collaborative educational community.

Our PTA is dedicated to helping the school administration create an environment where every student can achieve academic excellence and personal growth in a safe and supportive setting.

The elected Executive Board, together with class parents and numerous volunteers help keep our successful PTA running strong. We are committed to collaborate with the school administration and to make informed decisions that help shape the future of our student body and our wonderful school. Our responsibilities include:

Community Engagement: Encouraging active participation from parents, teachers, and community members to foster a collaborative educational community.
School Safety: Participate in decision making that promotes a high degree of safety protocols. The PTA fills a seat on the PS89 safety committee
Budget: Ensuring that financial resources are allocated efficiently and effectively to support student learning and well-being.
SLT:The School Leadership Team (SLT) develops educational policies for the school. They also make sure there are resources to support those policies
Fundraising: Raise and provide funds for Teacher Professional Development and for the improvement of schoo equipment, supplies and facilities to provide a safe and conducive learning environment.

All Parents and Guardians are urged to participate in monthly general membership meetings either virtually or in person.

In Person: Meetings are held at PS 89, usually in the cafeteria or the auditorium.

Join Virtually: Most general membership meetings are broadcast online via Zoom. They are indicated as hybrid on the meeting schedule. The link to join will be posted through Parent Square.
